Satellite Space Race

At an estate sale yesterday, we found this 1957 card game for 50 cents. The graphics are terrific. The garage was full of great toys from the 1950s. Especially space and science related ones. Everything was dirt cheap. Some of the other items we purchased were a couple of anatomy models; space drawings that the boy had drawn for the Boy Scouts; magic tricks; a few games; space books; a Davy Crockett wallet; a slot race track; and several different card games similiar to this one, but with different subjects. It was a fun sale.

Wow! What an awesome find! Those graphics are fantastic and it sounds like you got a bunch of other great stuff at the sale. I can never find good loot like that up here. (That's ok. I don't know where I'd put it all.)
Fantabulous! I'm jealous, as usual.
Take any of those cards, make a print of it really big, frame it, hang on the wall and feel like a million bucks.
I can't help but agree with my blogger chums- an awesome find and so beautifully coloured!
Oh jeez...I recognize these cards. I had a set as a kid. (Am I really that old?)
Thanks for the memory.
The thing that stood out to me was the 'SPUTNIK' card. Classic cold war propaganda.
I love the original 50s card set you found. I had the 1969 edition as a kid - take a look at images from my 1969 set to see the changes over time - I personally think the 50s graphics are best, tho...
Hey Space Racer
Did you find the rules?
I recently found my old game and would like to play it with my kid.
But it's boring just collecting the 10 missions.
I'd appreciate the game rules if you have or know them.
David
i just found that same card game in my mothers estate but there are no rules with it and i dont know if it is all there do you know how many cards are in the deck.
