The Leg Man

My good friend Vee from WV sent me a massive box of photos that she found in the trash. Her neighbor had passed away and the landlord threw all of his belongings on the curb since he had no family. Apparently, this gentleman had a leg fetish. There are numerous snaps of women's legs take at the beach, can-can style floor shows, burlesque shows, dance studios, acrobatic poses, gals on swings, and even inanimate objects like statues and mannequins. At one point in the 1940s or 50s, he was either married or dating a women who posed for him in various costumes. I'll post those at a later date. He also shot film in the movie theater and there are several photos of screen images like Laurel and Hardy, cartoons, and various movies of the day. One of those is included in this grouping since it is a shot of dancing legs. He also took several self portraits, some in various costumes, which I will also post in the near future. Most of the images are tame, but there are a few that are slightly risque.

Here are a few examples to give you an idea of the overall content.

I've been lurking here for awhile but I have to comment - what an awesome find - I am so glad your friend salvaged these...he may have been odd but I must say he had style of his own - a bit a talent if I do say so myself...

(I almost commented on the blind mind checking his watch - there was something incredibly beautiful in that photo)...

It's interesting to see how the women of that time were a little softer and rounder than we typically consider to be the fashion now, and yet they were babes back then! I was born in the wrong era...

These photos remind me of being a kid and finding adult picture facinating! I remember thinking,"What is this thing between men and women?" I love these photos! Hope you show more!

Yay! From the local dump to the whole wide world!!! I'm sure wherever he is now, Mr. Kane is very pleased.

The lady doing a split propped up on two opposing chairs -- that always gets me -- what kind of floor show is this? What are these white jackets the men in the audience are wearing? What's going on here?

Creepy, and wonderful.

The last one looks like a blonde Maggie Gyllenhaal. Did the girls laying down in their swimsuits know he was taking their picture I wonder? I bet not...

A number of these would qualify for my brother's ultimate leg judgment: "Couldn't you imagine those legs, wrapped around ya, just squeezin' the life outta ya?

This is off topic, I've been reading your archives for about a day now (I'm a fool for old things), and I just thought I'd let you know I kept having this weird dream that my cats were fighting in a courtroom over a showbox full of old love letters.
